Anonymous Be sure that that folder does not already exist and/or that you have write permissions on the website root folder.

Tell us if you could solve the problem smile

Anonymous Do you remember when installing the installer complained about non-writable folders? You should also enable the private folder to be writable (and all the other folders in order to correctly use Drake CMS).

Furthermore, you should also update to v0.3.5 before testing again the subsites (it's more stable) smile

I have chmodded the folders that was shown as not writable when installing drake. Not sure about the sub-folders tho.

How can i upgrade to the latest version then?

Anonymous System -> Updates and install each update in the order they should starting from that related to your version.

But if you do not enable write permissions, Drake CMS will obviously not be able to write the subsites and database backups

Ask more if you need help sideways

I checked "Update Drake CMS from v0.3.3 to v0.3.4" and clicked on the button (Update), but nothing happend (i think). If i choose "Install", then i need to browse for a file on my computer that i don''t have. ermm

EDIT: Maybe it''s just me, but it seems that i can''t change the title of the new site/section without changeing the title on the main site. (Hard to explain.)

Let''s say my main site is called "Sitename", and then i want my subsite to be called "Another sitename", then the title for my main site (Sitename) is also changed to the same title i choosed to the subsite (Another sitename). How can that be? Is this a bug or what?

I want the subsite to have a own sitename and own news section etc. I don''t want the same news from my main site to be shown in the subsite.

Anonymous Uhm...also other people experienced this problem, I think it might be related to the files extraction (which is failing)

Make another try: when the patch installation page appears use this url:

http://drakecms.sourceforge.net/updates.php?pid=update_from_v0.3 ....

If it does not work, then you'll have to do the following:
  1. enable write permissions on the private folder

  2. make a backup and download it on your computer

  3. download Drake CMS v0.3.5 and overwrite all your Drake CMS v0.3.3 files

  4. re-install Drake CMS

  5. go in the System -> Database -> Database backups and restore your previously saved database backup

I am sorry for such troubles but I think that file extraction is failing because of limited write permissions, however if you wish to collaborate I would be happy to make some tests to understand the reason of the problem and solve it once for all.

The update failed, so i think i need to re-install drake.
BRB with some info on how it goes.

Anonymous All seems to work now after i re-installed the latest version of drake. smile
One small question thoo...
Is it possible to de-activate/remove some functions in the admin cp for the subsites?

I created a subsite for a small organisation, and i want them selfs to be able to update and add text/images on their site.
I even want them to access the admin cp for their subsite. But i DON`T want them to be able to delete/edit something regarding the database and other important settings.

BTW.. thanks for all the help so far. wink

Anonymous The subsites feature is a pretty young one, so please be careful about whom is given access to them because if they are admin of the subsite they might make troubles! unsure Of course this should not be possible (subsites admin should not be able to edit the parent site or even access the root folder for write access), but I hope that with your help we can improve the trasversal security.

Currently, you should give them a lower level than Admin (in future you could give them the admin level with no problems) to be more safe.

Specifically, what things you think they should not edit? Before answering create an user with a lower level (Manager for example) and see if there is something you don't like about the permissions.

Then, use the subsite admin user and see what's wrong with it too (for example, the file manager is probably wrong because I think it allows to edit in the root folder!)

Many thanks to you, if you are going to collaborate we will make this CMS suit your needs (and the improvements will be for everybody, too!) smile

Hmm, ok... i''m gonna create a test user and then login to the admin cp of the subsite.
Right now i''m translating drake to swedish, so i will inform you how it goes with the admin "thing" on the subsite later today. wink

Anonymous It would be great if you would first read (and follow the guidelines in) http://wiki.drakecms.org/index.php?title=Tutorial:Translating_to _...

This way we can better manage translations smile

However please note that Drake is evolving, so you might need to update the translation in future versions
