Hi, I'm about to use Drake CMS and I'd like to publish a
german site. I saw that the german translation is almost

Hi Roland, yes everybody can help at translating - but your
work will be reviewed by the current translator in charge (for
German language he is d-fiant). For now
you\'ll have to wait some days - we are reviewing and preparing
the languages ready to be packaged - but meanwhile please read the I18N pages

How about a german language file for Drake 0.4.1?
In
the past, "d-fiant" has worked on it in SVN, but there
are no more commits from him since weeks?
Is the
german translation currently unmaintained?

I have
just asked him if he is going to continue the maintenance of the
translation. If he is not going to mantain it I will ask for a
new translator.
It is only a matter of days. Sorry for
the inconvenience

It is currently not yet available because of a bug in Drake CMS;
the next version will allow automatic installation of the
language files.
Sorry for the inconvenience..our
translators are doing an excellent job, it's the developers (me)
which are lacking!

It was not because of a bug in Drake CMS but because of a problem
on the server; now fixed.
You should be able to
install any package

When I
try to install the zipped language pack I got some errors. Also I
downloaded the language pack manually from sourceforge (maybe
there should be the language packs listed as long as the
automatic update doesn't run....), unzipped it and uploaded it to
the "lang" directory...it's running now.

As far as you install a language package done for the released
version of Drake CMS, it will work. If you use language packages
done for different versions, it will not.

Hm, yesterday I tried to install the german language wiht auto
update and it worked (the first time ).
No
problems.
Maybe you had missing permissions to write
on the langs folder...

was a server problem - not a Drake CMS problem. Quote by Siedlerchr:

Yes, if you get write
permissions errors they are not Drake CMS crashes or bugs.
