restore backup
27 December 2007 22:23
Anonymous Hi maybe a stupid question, but.. How do i restore a backup.

I made a backup from the 4.8 using the tarball backup function.
Then i created a new dir for drake 4.9 and extracted the drakecms tgz. After this i copied the backup file from the private/backup folder of the 4.8 to the 4.9. dir.

After the installation steps i went to adminbackend and tarball backup section. But there is not an actual restore button or something. I see the backup file is there. I can choice of 'new backup' and update. The update button didnt do much.
So what should i do to restore the backup?

Ty Richard.

Anonymous Hi

Read this thread for the steps when using the tarball backup..

Tarball Bacup

You cannot "restore" a tarball backup from within Drake, just the SQL backup...The tarball has to be extracted maunally to the dir of the new installation and then the SQL backup is restored.

Good Luck

You can also use the Veloce php script to extract the files; if your host allows it...

Funny thats what is says on the first page.

(Been away for a while, so i have to catch up)

BTW i think the mixup is between the whole tar backup and the db backup.

Where? Maybe there is a wrong information that should be fixed.
