Drake CMS has been rebranded into Lanius CMS, visit the new Lanius CMS Official Forums if you need support about Lanius CMS or Drake CMS -> Lanius CMS migration.
I just freshly installed Drake CMS and followed the instructions.
One of the steps is to chmod everything to 777. After the
installation it appears that all the files still have write by
all permissions? Isn't that dangerous?

Hi
777 ensures a fail safe install, you can try 755
and 644 for files and see what happens.
I have found
on some systems that 755 works, however it has required 777 on
others.
I prefer to use the Veloce installer as it
looks after those issues for you and also controls the owner of
the install.
Good Luck

Hi
This is a reply for all of your previous
posts...
I would be careful using this release of
Drake CMS in a live working enviroment, it is Beta and is now
going through a rebranding process, this release will/may be the
last in the Drake CMS branch. LaniusCMS will be its
successor.
You may be better served by using its as is
or use the SVN version and become familiar with it and wait until
the next rebranded release. It will also have those bugs resolved
that you have raised with this release..if you do use the SVN
version it is not supported as far as updates are concerned.
