I always get the error 501 when I trie to upload Drake to my
server. Some folders can´t be created. I put all access-rights
to 777, so that can´t be the problem. I have no sql-support and
like to use the gladius database. Should I try to use another
FTP-program or do I have to change my hosting-company? I thought
it is possible to use Drake on cheap and simple servers? Thanks for any hints!

There might be the problem. Try to upload drake without
setting rights to 777 and then it might worked. On my
webspace Drake works with 755 with no problems.
I use
FileZilla for FTP and I think there is nothing better.

Ok, I uploaded everything, put all files and folders to 755. Wich
file do I open to start the installation? Just opening the
mainfolder creates an error: "Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration
and was unable to complete your request." this also happens
with any other file (index.php, core.php....)

Since Drake CMS is not yet installed all pages will redirect you
to install/index.php, which is where installation starts
from.
The fact that you still get a 50x server error
means that probably the file permission you set is not
correct.
Please read the file permissions policy of
your host provider. Then you might try changing the default
write mode (editing install/index.php looking for
$d_writemode) used by Drake CMS at install
time.
Once Drake CMS is installed such write mode can
be changed from the global configuration in the admin backend.
Definitively, this is not a Drake CMS trouble - but I
would be glad to help you solve it and/or to finally improve
Drake CMS so that the installation might be easier for other
users too

When I installed drake, I had nothing to change on my
permissions. They are by default 755. So, I just
installed drake and that was all.
With drake I had no
problems. Try to reinstall drake and don't change
permissions before install.

Hi
I have three different server environments, not
counting my xampp localhost setup, that I do test installs to.
One of those will not work with directory permissions of 0755.
I have to use 0777 on all directories, I have also had
one config that required me to create the private/drake/ folder
and set its permissions to 777 and then restart the install
before I got a useable installation.
Good Luck...I use
ws_ftp by the way

Hi
I don't think the issue is with your ftp
client..
Looks more to be a server config error what
is the server config you are trying to setup Drake CMS on.
What is the host address you are trying to install to
Have you tried the veloce installer?

Im using a localhost right now which works fine. As this project
is for a customer it wont be used on my server, so I wont spend
more time on bringing it up to my server. I´m sure this problem
won´t repeat on the customes webspace. But thanks alot for the
support!
