Nice,
Definitely an improvement! Suggestion:
top-align content in query database output!
Really
exciting to see where this is going!

Hello, nice job rsavarese for most of the new general color
scheme. - As I see in FFox 3.0 beta 1, the "Latest
Drake" image has been moved completely to left. I,
personally don`t like that, it was better b4. Also i don`t like
the font in that image. Standard font, like Arial is better. - Some of the new icons introduced in the last 2 weeks, as some
of menu items where added, don`t follow the general Drake CMS
color/style scheme. And there are not web optimized (indexed). I
will provide some new icons to replace them, or i will optimize
those, if no problem. - Also, what about introducing the
48x48 px icons, as i provided them and the two replacing files?
Unfotunately i had lately very limited time, so i was not able to
learn to much about using SVN :(.

I agree.

What do you mean by
a term 'indexed'?

You heard
about RGB, CMYK..., Grayscale modes for representing images
colors. Indexed mode is a maximum 256 colors mode. The problem is
that, an image with transparency (PNG or GIF) is shown correctly
under Firefox, but without its transparency in IE if it is not
saved in 256 col. (indexed) mode. Now, another problem is
that when you convert a nice looking icon from RGB to indexed
mode, it often looses its "sex appeal", so you must
edit the icon image to make it look quite as before.

In my opinion the most important is to have (as much as possible)
images in 8-bit (256 colors). Transparency is a different
question, as some icons (especially in menu) should be
transparent.
Optimizing images can be made also by
reducing their size (on a hard disk).

re: stigi Thats what i was talking about in a diffrent
manner; of course, 8-bit 256col. imgs. means smaller amount of
kb. But, also, how they look is vy important.

True,
however in most cases (that's why I wrote 'as much as possible')
difference in quality between 8-bit and 24-bit images is almost
nothing, but there's a difference in size (just like you've
said).

I also think that we should use 8bit PNGs as much as possible,
will ease rendering in general.
