Hi All,
There is more to re-branding than just
changing the name and logo.
Digging deeper into the
code, there are so much things that refers to Drake, will these
be a part of the radical change?
This is similar to
Joomla wherein after several years and leaping further beyond
mambo, it could not still get away with mambots, mos, etc. A
ghost which bugs the Joomla community until now.
With
drake, will the term drabots be changed to lanots? The variable
"$d" be replace with an "$l".
The
name and the logo is the beginning, the big question is where
will it end? A radical change is required if Lanius CMS will
totally get rid of its predecessor Drake.
Just a
thought!

Yes, I know

No,
it's not essential to change them at this stage

In our case it's a less invasive operation since we never
supported other CMSes rather than Drake CMS and Limbo CMS (for
the database backups only).

No. Drabots will be called "plugins", but not
necessarily at this stage.

Just a thought!
And we appreciate these
sharp thoughts
The change will be radical, the
"tracks" of previous brand name will still be present
(for example in the XML formats). We will remove them slowly and
with no priority; the user will not notice them anyway.

Hi all,
It is awfully quiet here.
Any news about the rebranding?
I sure hope
everything is going ahead!

I did not ask everything about it, but yeah, i'm also very ... Should we switch (back) to PHP-Fusion, Joomla or E107? I
hope that Lanius has already wings and should fly incredibly
soon!

Adrian,
I know that legolas558 is working on it, he's
a very good programmer! I was just curious if everything is
progressing according to plan, hoping he could give us a roadmap
of the things to come.
Meanwhile, my (Drkae)CMS is
woking fine, so no problems there.
Kind regards,
AWRog

And that is
the story, he is working alone, not by choice by circumstance,,
and there is/was a lot of issues to resolve in the rebranding, I
do know legolas558 has been working on the setup of the new home
for Lanius ie the server enviroment, again part time takes more
time...
There were a number of submissions for the
logo, that will be revealed shortly...
Although just
words, don't worry. it will happoen..none of us is going
away..

I understand such feeling...we are
just experiencing a "cold boot", the project WILL NOT
cease to exist and WILL NOT stop development.
I am
setting up the new services on the new server, that's most of the
delay. The problem is that bugtracker, SVN, website, wiki have
different login systems and I am binding them together (as much
as possible)
Some more patience please

Thanks all for the nice words, however as everybody here realized
communication is not at optimal levels - this is something we all
should work on when moved at Lanius CMS
Also the
project will be modularized so that it doesn't depend from me;
this was the initial idea for Drake CMS but failed.
