You are reading the Drake CMS Official Forums archive, available for historical purposes only.
Drake CMS has been rebranded into Lanius CMS, visit the new Lanius CMS Official Forums if you need support about Lanius CMS or Drake CMS -> Lanius CMS migration.
I will describe the areas where Drake CMS needs further
development in order to finish this alpha stage testing and
officially enter the beta stage. You can monitor the single
features here
the
language translator, the current language component will
allow cloning the English language or any other already installed
language and begin the translation of all resources; you can
already edit the English language this way
the installation system, which is not yet
working for any add-on; this is limiting Drake CMS and we need to
finish it ASAP; the new installation format is being carefully
designed to allow great extensibility
update system, which should allow easy
update of any Drake CMS installation
new
file downloads system, that should protect file download
and apply group policies
complete security
test, to spot unsecure code before the BETA
release
Once the above features will be
implemented and work reasonably Drake CMS will be released as
BETA instead of ALPHA; we are already pleased by the number of
new users that are getting interest in Drake CMS and we hope they
will be even more satisfied with future versions.

Looking Good! Version 1133 - a few Bugs but DRAKE CMS is looking
Much more Robust now!
Ever Since you Fixed the sql
database backup function / and Signed up as a USER / I elevated
you to Admin / & then Backed that Database up. I don't know your
Password & you don't know mine but that database remembers us
BOTH!
SO: you have ADMIN Privileges at the Santa Drake
now.
Once you Squeeze the Install Bugs out you'll be
able to upgrade and Test as long as you need to. Then you'll be
able to upgrade yourself ...

Thank you for the compliments
Yes
Drake is growing faster and will soon exit the current Alpha
stage, I also plan to use that automatic updates feature to
upgrade the installation.
The installation bugs are
not actually bugs, the problem is that such system is under
re-design...work in progress!
Thank you again!

I'm looking forward to the day, when I will migrate/relaunch my
homepage with DrakeCMS.
Reasonable small footprint, no
database server needed, Captcha integration and last but not
least the wonderful GeloForms will make
DrakeCMS the one and only CMS for me.
Keep up the good
work!

It looks as if the updating
feature is Functional as of 1170
Legolas558: you have Access ... You could email me if
you can't update it Yourself (from now on) ...
Then
Email me when we go Beta ...

Hi Sea Mac,
yes I could use my old login to enter as
admin and it was fine
But unfortunately due to a core bug in
the install class (only happening in PHP4) the auto-update is not
working before v0.2.9; would you please overwrite the online
files with those from the latest version? It is not necessary a
full re-install.
In future the updating will be
automatic.
About the Beta stage: mostly a formal
change, we will enter it on (this) Friday.

Sorry the online version at softwaresanta should
allow automatic updates but it is not! So I thought it was an
older version but revision 1170 is indeed v0.2.9 and is
supported.
Now I'll have to understand why the
patching system is not doing its job

I still have the Database. I'll clean
install the Latest version from Download and Restore the
Database.
So, you found that there were more problems
by TESTING with that Site: Excellent!
